5 Ways to Make Your Front Porch Feel Cozy for Fall
The days become shorter, the breeze a little cooler, and the leaves begin to change into vibrant oranges, reds, and yellows. Fall is officially here and we have all the tips to get your porch looking fall cozy. Start fresh by making a clean slate to work with. Dust the furniture off, clean the windows, sweep away the cobwebs and get rid of the last bits of Summer debris. Sometimes the first step can be the hardest to start, but once you get started you might be surprised at how rewarding the process can be. Starting fresh gives you a clean slate to work with and is where the real fun begins.

2. Add Layers
Start by adding layered welcome doormats. By adding a simple, larger mat under your regular mat you’ll add dimension and elegance. Especially for the fall, adding a checkered or plaid mat or rug under your regular welcome mat adds the perfect fall touch. Starting with the welcome mats gives you a focal point to work around and easily build on to. I tend to lean toward warm yellows, brown/tans, or black/grey plaid for the underneath mat for a subtle, yet elegant look.

Adding textured wreaths or swags that accentuate and complement your mats make for a cohesive look that easy on the eyes. Whether you have one or two doors, adding a wreath or two, or swags are an easy way to make your door pop while adding a warm welcome look. Make sure you pick wreaths that are long-lasting and able to stand the weather for a long-lasting look. Wreaths with velvet leaves, dark, rich colors are a perfect elegant touch.
4. Add mums or fall foliage
Next, it’s time to add some colorful fall foliage and mums. Mums of various sizes are a great way to add layers and color. Another great way to incorporate fall is by adding some corn stocks.
